Here is what Advanced Circular Manufacturing does for residents, every week, for 30 years.
♻️
Direct Manufacturing Jobs
Operations staff, process technicians, quality engineers, safety personnel, and maintenance workers — all based at the Hillsboro facility, local hire first.
Direct Manufacturing Jobs
🏭
Supported Local Jobs
For every direct facility job, approximately 2.5 additional local jobs are supported in transportation, equipment, food service, construction, and supply chains.
Supported Local Jobs
💰
Economic Ripple Effect
Worker wages circulate in the Hillsboro economy — spent at local businesses, generating sales tax, and supporting the regional tax base. Estimated $4M+ annual local economic impact at startup.
Economic Ripple Effect
🏘️
Construction Phase Jobs
The facility build-out creates approximately 18–24 months of construction employment on the I-35 corridor — trades, civil, mechanical, and electrical work.

Workforce Development
Carbotura targets local hire and works with regional community colleges — including Hill College — to develop apprenticeship and training pathways for Hillsboro residents.

💧
Property Tax Base
The facility represents a significant private capital investment — adding a new manufacturing property to the Hill County tax base without requiring any public subsidy.

💼
Landfill Diversion
Committed waste streams no longer go to landfill. Instead of being buried and generating methane for decades, materials are converted into manufactured products.
Landfill Diversion
🌊
Carbon Negative Operation
The facility is designed to be net carbon negative — manufacturing graphite and other products sequester more carbon than the process emits. The facility powers itself using hydrogen produced in the conversion process, drawing almost nothing from the power grid.
Carbon Negative Operation
🚛
PFAS Destruction
The manufacturing process is designed to destroy PFAS — the "forever chemicals" — in industrial and biosolids streams. This positions Hill County ahead of upcoming federal regulations on PFAS disposal.

🌡️
No Landfill Leachate
Landfills produce leachate — contaminated liquid that must be collected and treated. Diverting waste to the Carbotura facility eliminates new leachate generation at the landfill for committed streams.
No Landfill Leachate
♻️
Self-Powered Facility
The conversion process produces hydrogen, which powers the facility itself. This means near-zero external grid draw — reducing strain on the local power infrastructure.

Circular Economy
Materials that would have ended their life in a Hill County landfill are converted into manufactured outputs — graphite and other products that re-enter the supply chain.

💰
No Taxpayer Money Required
Carbotura builds, owns, and operates the facility entirely at private expense. Hill County pays a Beneficiation Fee per ton of waste delivered — and receives a return payment back, with no capital at risk.

Waste Cost Becomes Revenue
Currently, Hill County pays to dispose of its waste. Under the Carbotura agreement, the County pays a processing fee and receives a Circular Royalty™ payment back — beginning approximately 13 months after the facility opens. The royalty is designed to exceed the processing fee from Year 2 onward.
